Governor Blows Off Michigan Challenge Over Hyundai

In the words of Alabama Governor Don Siegelman, Michigan is "Beginnning to feel the pinch from Alabama's success in the automotive industry," And that's why they filed environmental comments on Hyundai's application for air permits in Alabama.

Michigan leaders, who lost the plant, say Alabama isn't enforcing strict Environmental Protection Agency standards for the project. Governor Siegelman says there's quote "not a chance in the world" that Michigan will be successful in blocking the plant. He's written Michigan Governor, John Engler, to express his displeasure over their actions.
