Wiregrass Newsroom: Four Robberies in Fourteen Hours Have Police Searching for Clues

Dothan, AL (WSFA) -- It's not an unusual sight for the folks at the Wachovia bank branch on West Main Street.  Police tape is up once again for yet another robbery, making at least three times this branch was robbed in the last year.

But that's not all.  Other robberies at a Hobo Pantry, Beeline grocery, and KFC, all within the last day have police wondering if there is a connection, and warning residents to be careful.

"Whenever something like this happens we consider them armed and dangerous," says Officer Thomas Davis with the Dothan Police Department.

Police say the bank robbery suspect came in the front door, and handed a note to the teller demanding money.  They have only a vague description of the suspect.

Police say they could solve this case sooner with the help of a few key things--the fact that it happened in the middle of the day, and at one of the biggest intersections in Dothan.

With steady traffic, officers are hoping someone driving along West Main and Park Avenue saw the man run out of the bank.

"Somebody had to have seen something. What we need is people to call in," says Davis.

Officers say no one was hurt in the robbery and the suspect did not threaten any customers while inside the bank. They are not sure whether the man was carrying a weapon or how much money was stolen.

Police are still searching for suspects in the Hobo Pantry and Beeline robberies.
