MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) - Becoming leaders and making an impact on the community, that was the focus of WSFA 12 News Vice President and General Manager Ken Selvaggi's keynote address to a new graduates of Troy University Montgomery.

Selvaggi spoke to the class of 2008 at their commencement ceremony Wednesday evening.

During the address Selvaggi stressed to graduates that their leadership will be needed as tough economic times surround our country. 

Today's graduates are entering a workforce that is becoming increasingly challenging to navigate, but Selvaggi said these young men and women should persevere and look for a brighter future.

"Be leaders-lead with integrity, passion and compassion," Selvaggi said.

With a college diploma graduates can look forward to realizing their future personal goals but should also remember their communities, Selvaggi said. "Give your time and talents to help your community."

Prior to joining WSFA 12 News, Selvaggi was president and general manager of KSNT, the NBC affiliate in Topeka, Kansas. He previously worked in news management for 20 years at television stations in Pennsylvania, West Virginia and Kentucky.

Ken and his wife, Anne, have two daughters named Grace and Mary. A son, Luke, was born Thursday.
