Update: Injured Auburn police officer out of hospital

Auburn, Ala. (WSFA) -- An Auburn police officer dragged by a truck Wednesday is now out of the hospital.  Police say officer Josh Adams was released from the hospital late Wednesday night and is at home resting with family.  Adams is expected to make a full recovery.

Officer Adams was dragged for nearly a block after a suspect in a routine traffic stop sped off. When the truck made a sharp turn, he fell and struck his head.  Adams was found lying along W. Glenn Avenue.

Fifty-nine year old John Henry Knight of Auburn was later arrested and charged with assault.

Police aren't sure why Knight took off.
