Montgomery, Ala. (WSFA) -- Some Carver High School alumni are making sure their school has the funding it needs. The class of 1968 donated $7,500 to Carver Friday.
Members of the class say the money was raised through various recent gatherings as the class celebrated its 40th reunion.
The alumni say they wanted to give back to a school that gave them so much. "We left here in 1968 not knowing where we were going," says Juanita Owes,"but we knew that we were prepared by the teachers at Carver High School, so with that in mind we knew that we ought to give something back to the school."
The class of 1968 says it's proud of Carver High School for continuing to make progress.
