Montgomery, Ala. (WSFA) -- Severe weather can strike at any moment. That's why it's a good idea to prepare now. It's becoming increasingly important to have at least one weather radio.

When watches and warnings are issued, your radio will alert you of severe weather. For more information regarding your county codes for NOAA weather radios, log onto www.srh.noaa.gov/srh/cwwd/nwr/bhm.html .

You and your family also need to have a severe weather action plan in place so each person knows what to do in case of strong storms.

It's also a good idea to have a flashlight, fresh batteries, and plenty of food and water.

And as always, stay tuned to WSFA 12 News and WSFA.com for the latest severe weather information.
