LAFAYETTE, Ala. (AP) - A veteran Chambers County commissioner who lost the November election by one vote is challenging the results in court.
Unofficial returns on election night showed incumbent Charles Hardage leading by two votes. But provisional ballots put former Lanett mayor Henry Osborne in the lead.
A recount on Nov. 17 made the lead one vote. Hardage, who served three terms on the county commission, said he went to court because the election was so close. Osborne will continue to serve while the case awaits a ruling in court.
