Council recommends Alabamians for presidential appointments

The Alabama Presidential Advisory Council Monday announced its appointment recommendations to be forwarded to President-elect Barack Obama's administration.

The 22 member volunteer council conducted interviews for appointed positions in Alabama over the weekend in Montgomery. It had advertised and collected resumes for the position for several weeks.

"We received many outstanding applications and any number could have been selected," said Alabama Democratic Party Chairman Joe Turnham. "These recommendations to be forwarded to Washington represent a diverse group of Alabamians with outstanding resumes."
