First On WSFA 12 News: Sammy the Cat's Story Goes Worldwide

Notasulga, AL (WSFA) - WSFA 12 News has the latest on Sammy the cat, a regular visitor to the post office in Notasulga.

Last Friday WSFA 12 News told you that Sammy had been banned from the post office because one postal patron had complained that she was allergic to cats. After our story went international, people from as far away as California, Oklahoma, even Austria have called offering help or have sent packages to Sammy.

Now that he has his own post office box, Sammy has received post cards, cat food, toys, and money. The food and money will be donated to the local humane society.

After getting a reprieve last Friday, the same resident has filed another complaint saying she is highly allergic, and once again, the U.S. Postal Service has banned Sammy from going inside.
