The Black Crowes, Los Lonely Boys, Grace Potter and the Nocturnals, Shooter Jennings, The Whigs and Blackberry Smoke will perform at BamaJam 2009 to be held June 4-6, 2009 in Enterprise, Al.
The Black Crowes, one of the world's greatest rock 'n' roll artists, will join the list of award-winning entertainers to appear at BamaJam, performing on Friday, June 5, 2009. The success of their singles "Hard to Handle," "She Talks to Angels," "Jealous Again," "Twice as Hard," "Remedy," and "Goodbye Daughters of the Revolution" led the group to multi-platinum status and international acclaim racking up worldwide album sales of more than 19 million.
The Crowes have toured nationally and internationally (Europe, Japan and the Soviet Union) with acts such as Aerosmith, Jimmy Page, Robert Plant, The Rolling Stones, Bob Dylan, The Who, AC/DC, Grateful Dead and Neil Young.
The Texas brotherly-trio Los Lonely Boys (Epic Records) has been added to the roster of BamaJam performers on Thursday, June 4. The multi-platinum (LOS LONELY BOYS-2003) and Grammy award-winning ("Best Pop Performance with Vocal" for "Heaven") group is best known for their hit singles "Real Emotions," "Heaven," "More Than Love," "Diamonds" and "Staying with Me." Los Lonely Boys' most recent album, FORGIVEN, charted at No. 2 on Foghead Favorites (WFOG Radio/2008).
Grace Potter and the Nocturnals will also perform on Thursday evening. The Vermont-based band blend funky blues, soul and rock from the '60s and early '70s and in addition to gracing stages across the country, they have found their place on television--appearing on "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno," "Good Morning America" and "The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson." Their song entitled "Apologies" has been featured on the shows "Kyle XY," " One Tree Hill," and "Brothers & Sisters," and the song "Falling or Flying" was featured on the hit drama "Grey's Anatomy."
The multi-talented Shooter Jennings will hit the stage on Saturday, June 6. A proficient musician on guitar, banjo and piano, Jennings introduced his first national recording project entitled PUT THE 'O' BACK IN COUNTRY in 2005 (Universal South Records). The lead single from the CD ("Fourth of July") made its way up the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart peaking at No. 26. Jennings has since followed with three recordings, ELECTRIC RODEO, LIVE AT IRVING PLAZA 4.18.06 and his newest album, THE WOLF.
The southern indie-rock band The Whigs (ATO Records) from Athens, GA has become a soaring success in just the past few years. Last summer, The Whigs embarked on their first European tour, performed on the "Late Show with David Letterman" and "Late Night with Conan O'Brien" and were named one of ten artists to watch by Rolling Stone magazine (2006). The song "Need You Need You," from their most recent album, MISSION CONTROL (2008), was featured in the video game "Pure." The trio is scheduled to perform Thursday, June 4.
Southern Rock group, Blackberry Smoke (Rocket Science), exudes diverse influences, from bluegrass and gospel to rock 'n' roll, making them a modern aesthetic success. The Atlanta-based foursome has shared the stage with famed artists Lynyrd Skynyrd and ZZ Top and will appear on the BamaJam stage on Friday, June 5. Blackberry Smoke hits include: "Testify," "Sanctified Woman," and covers of "Scare The Devil," "Muscadine" and "Freeborn Man."
