Dilworth makes final recommendations on school closings

Montgomery, Ala. (WSFA) --  It's been a hot topic for weeks now will Montgomery County be forced to close schools due to budget cuts?

Tuesday the superintendent made his recommendation to the board.

Superintendent John Dilworth recommended closing: Pintlala, Hayneville Road, and Paterson Elementary schools.

However, he's changed his mind about Houston Hill Junior High.

He's recommending it remain open and transfer some students from Capitol Heights Junior High and Mckee Junior High to ease overcrowding there.

"We can not budget on hope we have to budget on the best information we have available, and we know that information we be fluid even this summer," said Dilworth.

The board will make the final decision on February 10th.
