Montgomery bank closed after powder scare

MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) - The doors of a Montgomery bank have been shuttered Monday, after employees came into contact with a white powdery substance.

A HazMat team, as well as officials from the Montgomery fire and police departments are on the scene at the Compass Bank brank on the East Boulevard at this time.

Initial tests show the substance is not hazardous, though more tests are being done to confirm those reports.

The bank is currently closed, and investigators are not sure at this time when the building will be reopened to the public.

WSFA 12 News will have the latest information as it becomes available.
