Auburn police arrest burglary suspects

AUBURN, AL (WSFA) - Auburn police arrested several burglary suspects. In all five suspects were taken to the Lee County jail suspected of burglaries and thefts at area apartment complexes.

On Saturday night officers arrested Cedric Pitts, 21, and Ronald Jones, 18, both of Valley, Alabama in connection to a burglary at an apartment complex on West Longleaf Drive. When officers arrived on the scene both men fled the scene in a vehicle, which authorities found a few blocks away. Authorities took both men into custody and recovered stolen property from them. Each is charged with Burglary 2nd Degree and Theft 1st and 3rd Degree.

Two hours later, at 2am on Sunday, Auburn police arrested Antonio Jones, Jr., 20, of Montgomery; Jamal Barnes, 20, of Grady; and Torian McZeal, 24, or Montgomery and charged each with Burglary 3rd Degree and Theft of Property 1st Degree. The three suspects were arrested in connection with a burglary on East Longleaf Drive. Each suspect fled the scene on foot according to officers, but were captured a short time later.

The five suspects are awaiting bond at the Lee County Jail.
