Montgomery County Commission asks for delay of school closings vote

MONTGOMERY, AL., -- A meeting set for today could determine the fate of three Montgomery schools, but not before some county leaders have their say.

On Monday, County Commissioners approved a resolution encouraging Montgomery Superintendent John Dilworth to reconsider voting on the issue at Tuesday's meeting. The school board is scheduled to vote on closing Pintlala Elementary, Hayneville Road Elementary and Paterson Elementary, in an effort to save about 3 million dollars a year.

The school board will meet Tuesday night at 5:30 in the Lee High School auditorium.
