Hockey team bus crashes in Clanton

CLANTON, Ala. (AP) - A bus carrying a minor league hockey team from Huntsville crashed on the way back from a game but nobody was seriously injured.

The bus carrying 21 people from the Huntsville Havoc ran into the median at 12:30 a.m. Friday on Interstate 65.

A police report says the driver might have fallen asleep.

The driver was taken to Chilton Medical Center complaining of dizziness.

His status and name were not immediately available.

Some of the Havoc players and staff sustained minor bumps and bruises, a team statement said.

Clanton Police Chief Brian Stilwell said the bus didn't overturn but was stuck in the mud.

Another charter bus picked the team up about two hours later and took them back to Huntsville.
