Selma, Ala. (WSFA) -- A Selma-based company announced it's expanding Friday bringing new jobs to the area. The news spread quickly at American Apparel plant in Selma.
The company is set to purchase the military contract company Wellstone Mills. It's a contract to develop yarn, fabrics and apparel for all four services of the military. The deal will create growth in the company's plants in Selma, Opp, Fort Deposit, Centre and Oneonta.
Thirty new jobs will be created at the two Selma plants alone. Officials say that's good economic news many need to hear when a lot of companies are laying off employees.
The announcement is already boosting morale.
