Girl Scout Cookie sales down

In this economy, things are tough all over, even for the girl scouts.  USA Today reports pre-orders for girl scout cookies are off by as much as 19 percent nationally.  The pre-orders take place in January and February, and usually account for more than two-thirds of the total sales.

Girl Scout council leaders blame the economy and bad weather for the dip, and say they hope to have a surge with booths at shopping centers.  In Montgomery the girls scouts are selling cookies on the weekends at Wal-Mart locations across the city and at the Shoppes at Eastchase.
