Wiregrass Newsroom: Country Crossing breaks ground again.

Dothan, Ala. (WSFA) --  There was another celebration at the site of Country Crossing Monday.

With the turn of a shovel Country Crossing developer Ronnie Gilley kicked off construction of the first building at the entertainment complex.

"We've had a lot of battles along the way and the fact of the matter that we're getting ready to pour concrete says alot," explained Gilley.

George Jones Possum Holler Bed and Breakfast is the first project of phase one being built.

Developers say this is just the beginning of things to come.

"The first of many, many milestones and yes we are very very excited about it," says Gilley.

Phase one is expected to be completed over the coming year.  Developers project that over twleve hundred jobs will be created during this first year.

"If you look at the equation over the next ten years seven years we're talking about employing in excess of over six thousand people and that's significant for this part of the state," added Gilley.

Later this month construction is set to begin on the bingo pavillon at Country Crossing.
