Raid nets 120 gambling machines

MOBILE, Ala. (AP) - A series of raids across Mobile County led to the seizure of more than 120 gambling machines.

About 70 officers from various law enforcement agencies confiscated the illegal machines at dozens of clubs and businesses Tuesday.

Mobile County District Attorney John Tyson Jr. and David Barber, the head of Gov. Riley's task force on gambling, said a dozen people were arrested.

Tyson said more raids are planned.

Promoting and possession of a gambling device are misdemeanor offenses in Alabama.
