Prison time for murderer of Montgomery boy

MONTGOMERY, Ala. (AP) - A Montgomery man was given a life prison sentence in the shooting death of a three-year-old boy.

Circuit Judge Eugene Reese Thursday handed the jail term to 23-year-old Sean Travis Howard.

He was convicted of reckless murder for killing Sequoyah Jackson in Aug. 2007.

Court records showed the youngster was playing with his 9-year-old brother and another friend when he was shot in the back by a stray bullet that was fired by Howard.
