Mayoral Candidate Profile: Scott Simmons

Montgomery, Ala. (WSFA) -- Crime, the economy and unifying the community, those are top priorities for Montgomery mayoral candidate Scott Simmons.

With the election just days away, Simmons is spending his time trying to win over potential voters.   He says if elected mayor of Montgomery, he will be a servant leader. Simmons says he wants voters to understand they are in charge at city hall.

"If you elect me you will see a leader who will not be paid for a bought by the big machines and it won't be about east or west, black or white or Republican or Democrat, it will be about being a bridge builder and standing in the gap and supporting people."

Simmons joins John Dow, Todd Strange, Willie Cook, Jay King, and Michael Briddell in the race for mayor.
