Suspect arrested in Auburn Bank robbery

AUBURN, AL (WSFA) - A suspect is in Auburn police custody today on charges of bank robbery.

Officers responded to the Auburn Bank on North Gay Street around noon Wednesday where bank officials said a female had just robbed them.

According to bank officials the suspect gave a note to the teller at the walk-up window of the drive-through demanding money.

Within minutes a vehicle matching that connected to the suspect was spotted at the corner of Opelika Road and North Ross Street.

Officers arrested the woman, identified as Sandra Renea Robinson, age 38, of Waverly, Alabama.

No weapon was used in the robbery, and no one was injured, authorities said.

The stolen cash was recovered from inside the vehicle.
