Scattered showers and thunderstorms brought some temporary relief from the heat down in parts of south Alabama and the Wiregrass. Parts of Covington, Dale, Coffee, Geneva, Henry and Houston counties saw heavy rain, thunder and lightning. But, almost everyone else in our area stayed dry - and HOT! Afternoon temperatures made it well into the mid 90s.
The heat backs down a few degrees Friday and beyond, but we’re still running a few degrees above normal through the weekend. A front approaches the state early next week and could bump rain coverage up slightly on Monday and Tuesday. Otherwise, there are no major changes or cooler air intrusions coming anytime soon - Alabama stays hot!
