MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) - A woman who was shot Friday night in Montgomery and died as a result of her injuries has been identified.

The victim is identified as Latricia McDade, 31, of Montgomery. According to the Montgomery Police Department, they are investigating the shooting as a homicide. This is the city’s 28th homicide in 2018.

Police and medics responded to the shooting in the 200 block of Alabama River Parkway around 8:21 p.m. Authorities arrived at the scene and found McDade, who had sustained life-threatening injuries.

Medics transported her to Jackson Hospital for treatment.

Police say there have been no arrests made at this time. Anyone with information related to the shooting is asked to call CrimeStoppers at 215-STOP, the Secret Witness line at 625-4000 or Montgomery police at 625-2831.

Another vehicle was struck by a bullet in the shooting, sustaining very minor damage.
