Suspects passing counterfeit bills, officials warn
Pascagoula Police believe these suspects are passing counterfeit bills.

MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) - Six people are part of an organized group using counterfeit bills and officials warn they may move along interstates from where they have struck along the Mississippi coast.

Pascagoula Police and Mississippi Coast CrimeStoppers have alerted their Alabama counterparts that during the past two weeks six suspects have passed more than $4,000 in counterfeit money at retail stores located in Pascagoula.

“Counterfeiters normally target shopping centers and retail stores along the U. S. Interstates. Once they have saturated an area they move on to the next,” Central Alabama CrimeStoppers Executive Director Tony Garrett said on Wednesday.

A tip on the identity of the suspects could lead to a cash reward. Call the police or notify CrimeStoppers by using the 24-hour tip line at 215-STOP, or download the P3-tips app, or provide information through the web at www.215STOP.com or the Facebook page at Central Alabama CrimeStoppers.
