MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) - Montgomery police have identified the suspect from Thursday’s manhunt as 23-year-old Jacoby Foster.

Foster is currently in the Montgomery County Detention Facility charged with discharging a weapon into an occupied building or vehicle and domestic violence-strangulation/suffocation.

According to Sgt. Jarrett Williams, the incident began when officers responded to a domestic disturbance in the 600 block of Plantation Way. Martha Earnhardt with the City of Montgomery said there was a dispute between a man and a woman, during which their child was present. The man fired a weapon into a vehicle before fleeing the scene with the child.

Earnhardt said the child was recovered and there were no injuries to the parties involved.

After a manhunt involving numerous officers, Foster was taken into custody in the area of Hilda Drive, not far from Lagoon Park.

No other details about the incident or Foster’s arrest have been released.
