COOSA COUNTY, AL (WSFA)- A murder investigation is under way after what appeared to be a traffic accident was actually a fatal shooting, according to the Coosa County Sheriff’s Office.
The incident happened Sunday around 9:28 p.m. Deputies were called to the scene of what was believed to be an accident but later was determined to be a shooting. Coosa County Sheriff Michael Howell says 29-year-old Andre Lamonde Davis of Kellyton was pronounced dead by county coroner, Jack Brewer at the scene.
Howell and Chief Deputy George Long have contacted the Alabama State Bureau of Investigation to assist with the investigation. The investigation continues under the direction of Alabama SBI agent Reginald Harkins, according to Coosa County officials.
