Huntsville body shop owner charged with shooting other body shop owner who cut him during fight

Police: Fight between Huntsville body shop owners ends in shooting, stabbing

HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF) - Huntsville police have arrested one of the body shop owners who got into a confrontation fight Thursday night.

Police say Peter Cox went to the other man’s business because he was upset about the amount of time for service to one of his vehicles. Police say during the confrontation, the other business owner cut Cox using some type of instrument.

Police say Cox tried to defend himself, left the business, called 911, and went to his own shop to get a gun.

According to police, the other man then drove to Cox’s body shop, and Cox fired multiple rounds at him while he was still in his vehicle. The man was hit in the arm and ran away.

Both of their injuries were non-life-threatening.

Cox was arrested and charged with assault and firing a weapon into an occupied vehicle.

The man who cut Cox was not arrested. Police say the investigation is ongoing, and they will help Cox file a warrant if he chooses.

Both business are accessed from Spring Branch Road, near Mock Road where the crime scene was Thursday night.
