MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) - A septic tank truck hauling a load of sewage overturned in Montgomery Wednesday afternoon, creating a foul situation for first responders.
Snowdoun and Pintlala volunteer firefighters responded to the scene on Highway 331 south of Hyundai Boulevard where they found the vehicle on its side.
Approximately 2,500 gallons of sewage had leaked out of the tanker, prompting a need for a hazardous materials, or hazmat, team. That’s when a request was made for assistance from Montgomery Fire and Rescue and the Alabama Department of Environmental Management.
MFR said there were no injuries in the crash, which was cleared around 2:35 p.m.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
