MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) - We’re on cruise control through Thursday - sunshine dominates again tomorrow, with afternoon temperatures warming into the
The first half of our Thursday is mostly dry, but coverage of rain will build as the day progresses. Some thunderstorms are likely Thursday night into early Friday - as of right now, there are more factors going against the idea of severe weather than supporting it. So, we’ll continue to say that the chance of widespread severe weather is very low with this system.
We’ll bounce back by the weekend - showers taper off by late Friday, so both Saturday and Sunday are dry and quiet. And good thing, because this weekend is a busy one - we have TroyFest, Auburn CityFest, the Joy to Life Walk...oh, and it is race weekend at Talladega SuperSpeedway!
Happy to report the weather looks great for anything and everything this weekend... highs once again will be back into the low and mid 80s, which is only a few degrees above average by late April standards.
Long range data suggest a trend to even warmer (hot?) weather next week - it’s possible that we see our first 90 degree readings of the year next week. The long, hot Alabama summer is coming soon.
