Saint James girls edge out St. Luke’s for first tennis title

MOBILE, AL (WSFA) - Saint James edged St. Luke’s Episcopal 56-52 to win the Class 1A/3A girls’ state title.

STJ, coached by Geoff Waring, picked up the No. 5 singles title thanks to seventh-grader Reilly Taylor, and senior Allyn Browning won the No. 6 singles crown.

Browning and Taylor also won the No. 3 doubles title for the Lady Trojans.

It was the first state tennis title in school history for the Lady Trojans.
