EUFAULA, AL (WSFA) - A mother has been arrested after the death of her 4-year-old child in a Eufaula crash.

According to Eufaula Police Chief Steve Watkins, Tresia Lynn Chrystler, 44, of Georgetown has been arrested and charged with manslaughter, driving under the influence, unlawful possession of a controlled substance, second degree possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

The crash happened on Jan. 11 on Eufaula Ave. near Meadow Drive. Watkins said a 2011 Toyota Camry ran into the back of an 18-wheeler, and the child, Josie Chrystler, was a passenger in the Toyota. She was airlifted to Children’s Hospital in Birmingham but died Jan. 19 from her injuries.

Chrystler is being held in the Eufaula City Jail. She is awaiting a bond hearing.
