TROY, AL (WSFA) - During our Hometown Tour Series, we highlight the people and businesses that make each town a great place to live. We’re continuing our tour Friday morning where there's a lot happening in the City of Troy!
Our tour started at one of the most popular spots to get donuts in town, Sips on the Square, located right on the square in downtown. We joined the owners of Sips on the Square and got a behind the scenes looks at how their beloved donuts come together.
Next, we headed to Charles Henderson High School where the culinary team has been selected as one of 10 culinary teams representing schools from across the nation. The school, the only one from Alabama selected to compete, will head to Houston next month in the National HUNCH Culinary Competition.
Finally, we talked with Troy Mayor Jason Reeves about Troy Fest. Troy Fest is an annual event which takes place in downtown’s square in honor of Jean Lake. This festival is a premier fine art and craft event, drawing upwards of 10,000 people to the area.
Our Hometown Tour will continue during our live newscasts between 4 p.m. and 6:30 p.m.
Don’t forget to join us next Friday when we visit the great city of Wetumpka! Click here for more information on the places we are highlighting.
