Enterprise High School ranked among best high schools

ENTERPRISE, AL (WSFA)- Enterprise High School Principal Brent Harrison knows his teachers and students work hard and the numbers show it.

“Naturally we were excited. Any time we receive some type of recognition whether it be nationally or state,” said Harrison.

The school ranks 16th in the state according to a report on Alabama’s best schools from U.S. News, and 1,348 out of over 17,000 school across the nation.

“Really 6-7 years ago we started. What else can we do for our students? How else can we better prepare out students for life whether it be college or career? This is 6-7 years of work that has gone into this,” said Harrison.

The ranking is based on things like test scores, graduation rates, and college readiness. Enterprise’s overall score was 92.18.

“It’s flattering whenever we’re recognized in this way, but I think it really does speak to the quality of the overall school system,” said Enterprise City Schools Superintendent Greg Faught.

“There’s always a growth mindset here - we’re doing a great job but there’s always more we can do,” said Harrison.

Total enrollment at Enterprise is higher than any other school on the list.
