MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) - Showers and a few storms are possible this weekend. No need to cancel any outdoor plans, but stay weather-aware and keep your First Alert Weather App handy!
The first half of Saturday will stay mainly dry, besides perhaps a rogue shower or two.
By the afternoon hours, a low pressure system will bring storm activity to Alabama. Storms will move into western counties later in the afternoon and trek across the state through the evening. Some of these storms could be strong to severe, posing a risk of damaging wind gusts and hail. Tornadoes are not expected.
Some showers will stick around Sunday morning, but by Sunday afternoon the sun will return. The start of our workweek will be mostly dry but warm with highs returning to the upper 80s.
