MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) - After a pleasant Monday, the heat and humidity will gradually crank up over the next several days. And, in typical Alabama fashion, we’ll deal with some scattered, “splash and dash” style showers and storms along the way, as well. The first thing you’ll notice will be tomorrow’s heat - afternoon temperatures will easily reach the upper 80s, and some spots will hit 90 degrees. We don’t expect any rain on Tuesday, just very warm weather.
Wednesday will be much like Tuesday - a hot day, with temperatures maxing out near 90 - but we’ll add just enough humidity to kick off a few isolated afternoon showers and storms. The coverage of rain will stay around 20%; most of us are dry, with only a few renegade storms dotting the landscape.
A cold front approaches the state Thursday night into Friday; ahead and along the front, scattered clusters of showers and thunderstorms are a good bet. This front will likely stall out near us Friday through the weekend, meaning the coverage of rain will stay elevated Saturday and Sunday, too.
There’s no need to cancel weekend plans, but a rain backup option is a good idea.
