MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) - One more day of very warm heat is in store, then temperatures return to normal! That comes with a higher chance of rain, however...
Another day near 90° is on tap for Thursday, with pop-up, isolated showers possible earlier in the day. Rain chances increase by late afternoon/early evening as a line of storms makes its way into central Alabama. Some storms could be on the stronger side with damaging wind gusts.
That’s not it for the rain, however. A cold front slowly approaches our area by the end of the workweek and stalls. Friday, Saturday and Sunday will all feature a good helping of on-and-off shower and storm activity.
Does it rain all day? No. Is it a washout? No. But will almost everyone have the opportunity to see some rain before the weekend is over? Yes. Coverage each day is around 60%, so odds are in your favor to see rain at times during the day. Keep an umbrella on hand if heading outside this weekend!
The silver lining to weekend rain is cooler temperatures! Temperatures will finally be near normal again with highs in the low/mid 80s.
The front looks to clear the region by Monday, so we’ll be a bit drier and slightly cooler at the start of the workweek.
