Police warn residents after homeowner shot at in driveway

PRATTVILLE, Ala. (WSFA) - Prattville police are warning residents after a victim says he was shot at while confronting suspects in his driveway.

According to police, Wednesday around 1:15 a.m. a homeowner in the Glynwood Subdivision called police after confronting two people going through his vehicle. The homeowner says after confronting the suspects at least one of them fired three shots at him. The homeowner then returned fire at the suspects.

Police say no one was reportedly injured from the gunfire.

The suspects, who were described as wearing hoodies and gloves, got into what is believed to be a white Ford Fusion. The victim told officers the vehicle was already occupied by at least two more people.

Police say the suspects exited the area and were last seen on McQueen Smith Road.

Prattville police are encouraging the public to be vigilant and if they see this type of activity to call 911.

“The people we are dealing with are extremely dangerous and have no respect for life. This is an active investigation that we are still gathering facts. The public should understand that all is being done to make an arrest or arrests, as quickly as possible, in these types of cases. We will use whatever resources and tactics needed to address this issue.” a news release said.
