MONTGOMERY, Ala. (WSFA) - Montgomery Fire/Rescue is investigating the cause of a house fire Thursday morning.
According to MFR Capt. Jason Cupps, units responded to the home in the 3900 block of Oak Street at around 4:20 a.m., and when they arrived the units reported seeing flames from the outside wall of the home.
Cupps said the fire extended into the living area, and crews were able to contain it there. The fire did not extend to the attic space. Crews also blocked off a power line that was down on the side of the house and notified Alabama Power.
Cupps said no occupants have been found and the owner later confirmed the occupant of the home was out of town. There were no injuries to civilians or fire personnel.
