House fire causes damage to vehicle in carport

MONTGOMERY, Ala. (WSFA) - Montgomery Fire/Rescue crews extinguished a house fire Thursday afternoon.

According to MFR Capt. Jason Cupps, units responded to the single-story home on Brooktree Dr. and once on scene saw heavy smoke and flames coming from the rear. A vehicle in the carport had received fire damage.

Cupps said crews made an offensive attack and extinguished the vehicle and house fire. No one was home at the time of the fire, and no injuries have been reported.

MFR will investigate the cause of the fire once the structure is cleared.
