MILLBROOK, Ala. (WSFA) - The WSFA 12 News team is packing up our vans and heading back on the road Friday for our Hometown Tour.
This week we’ll be taking our newscasts on the road to spotlight the people, places and things in the city of Millbrook.
We started our tour during Today in Alabama. Our first stop, Front Porch Grill where we learned about this ultimate small-town restaurant. During our stop we spoke with Marty Bean, the owner. Bean talked about his establishment, including the uniqueness of his “open-door policy” and his most popular dishes.
From there we headed over to Stanhope Elmore High School where we were greeted by the school’s band, cheerleaders and even some of the football players. Principal Ewell Fuller also spoke to us about the recent renovations and how the school’s philosophy on everything is “We win!"
Our last stop Friday morning landed us at the Alabama Wildlife Federation’s Alabama Nature Center. Kristen Irions, the assistant director of school programs, talked about the planned-use outdoor education facility that gets hundreds of students coming through every year.
Our tour of Millbrook will continue Friday evening. We will be live at Village Green Park at 4, 5, and 6 p.m. Come out and see us!
