GENEVA COUNTY, Ala. (WSFA) - The Geneva County Sheriff’s Office confirms the vehicle found burned Tuesday on Highway 167 under the Choctawhatchee River belongs to the mother of the man now in custody connected to the crime.
Investigators also believe the mother’s remains were found inside the vehicle.
Geneva County Sheriff Tony Helms confirmed investigators have not been able to locate the woman and are working under the assumption that the victim is the suspect’s mother.
Thursday, investigators charged Chad Dewayne Brogdon of Level Plains with murder and abuse of a corpse.
Brogdon was placed in the Dale County Jail with no bond.
