AUBURN, Ala. (WSFA) - There are still some spring cleaning efforts happening in Auburn. City officials are beautifying Auburn one neighborhood at a time.
City officials are coming together in northwest Auburn for their annual neighborhood cleanup project.
Officials say that this project is one that different departments have been coming together to do for several years. They'll be doing many services including pruning vegetation, mowing lawns, litter pickup, painting fire hydrants, and even code inspections. Officials say that this is just another way for them to be hands on in the community.
"First of all we want to show the community that we as a city work together in the city departments and that we care about the beautification and aesthetics of the neighborhoods," says Auburn Public Works Director, Tim Woody. "So this is a good way to bring the neighborhood together with the city and do a holistic cleanup in terms of cleaning up the neighborhood and making things look good."
Officials say that cleanup will start on Monday and last throughout the week.
Neighborhoods that will be a part of the cleanup project received notification in the mail.
