SAMSON, Ala. (WSFA) - A child was bitten in the face and shoulder by a relative’s dogs in south Alabama Wednesday, according to the Samson Police Department.
The 4-year-old was taken to Wiregrass Hospital where police were called for an investigation.
After talking with the child’s father, police determined the victim was visiting at their grandparents’ home when the attack happened.
While the grandmother was feeding the dogs, the animals started fighting. That’s when the child, in an attempt to try to stop the fight, was bitten multiple times.
The dogs’ breed was not immediately clear, but Samson police said animal control has since removed them and place them into quarantine.
The victim has since been transferred to a Birmingham hospital. The severity of the child’s injuries was not released.
