OPELIKA, Ala. (WTVM) - A two-vehicle crash on Saturday night has claimed the life of an Opelika man.
39-year-old Kyle Vaughan Jones was killed when the motorcycle he was operating was struck by an automobile on Interstate 85 just south of Auburn.
It is still under investigation as to exactly what caused the accident, but it is believed that Jones was killed in the initial impact and that several vehicles may have struck Jones before traffic could be stopped.
Lee County Coroner Bill Harris pronounced Jones dead at the scene at 12:30 AM Saturday morning. He died from multiple blunt force impact injuries. Officials say Jones was wearing a helmet.
There were no other injuries in the accident,
