ANDALUSIA, Ala. (WSFA) - The Andalusia Police Department has identified the suspect in a shooting that happened Thursday night.
Capt. Paul Dean says police are looking for Daimeion Rashawn Logan.
Logan, 30, is the suspect in the Snead Street shooting that police say left one man in critical condition.
According to Dean, officers were responding to the scene around 8:30 p.m. when they learned the victim was being transported in a personal vehicle to the hospital. An EMS team met the vehicle on the Square and began to administer first aid. From there he was taken to Andalusia Health where he was treated before being airlifted to a regional trauma center where he underwent surgery.
Dean says Logan’s been known to frequent areas in Covington, Crenshaw and Pike Counties, including Andalusia, Troy, Dozier, Brantley and Luverne. The captain says Logan has a prior record which includes charges for drug offenses in Pike County, but said Thursday’s incident does not appear drug-related.
If anyone knows the whereabouts of Logan, they are asked to contact Andalusia police at 334-222-1155, but police urge the public to use caution as Logan is considered to be armed and dangerous.
The Covington County Sheriff’s Office, Covington County District Attorney’s Office, Advanced EMS and the Drug Task Force are all assisting in the investigation.
