Shots reportedly fired outside Montgomery Zoo
Shots were reportedly fired outside of Montgomery Zoo Sunday.

MONTGOMERY, Ala. (WSFA) - Shots were reportedly fired outside of Montgomery Zoo Sunday.

According to spokesperson Steven Pierce, there was a drive-by shooting between passengers of two cars outside the zoo. He said there were no injuries and the Montgomery Police Department is investigating the incident.

MPD Sgt. David Hicks said officers responded to the 500 block of E. Vandiver Boulevard at around 3 p.m. in reference to a disturbance involving a discharged firearm. He said the people involved fled the area before units arrived, and there was no reported property damage or injuries.

Pierce said the zoo closed once the incident occurred.
