ESCAMBIA COUNTY, Ala. (WSFA) - Law enforcement has made an arrest in the investigation involving threats being made towards Escambia County Middle School.
According to the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office, the investigation revealed the threats were made on social media towards administrators and students at the school.
As a result of the threats initially, heavy law enforcement was present at several Escambia County schools Thursday.
“The safety of our students and staff remains our top priority. We will continue to have law enforcement at the school to provide security and support for our students and staff. School personnel will also continue to have additional safety measures in place at the school,” said a statement released on the Escambia County Schools Facebook page.
The identity of the person who made the threats has not been released.
