Man arrested after victim stabbed in the heart

MONTGOMERY, Ala. (WSFA) - A suspect has been charged in a March 21 stabbing investigation.
According to an arrest affidavit, Dennis Payne has been charged with first-degree assault. He is accused of stabbing the victim in the heart.
The affidavit says the victim required open chest surgery to repair his heart.
Payne was arrested on Wednesday and taken to the Montgomery County Detention Facility on a $60,000 bond.
