AUTAUGA COUNTY, Ala. (WSFA) - An Autauga County sheriff’s deputy was fired after he refused to take a drug test, Sheriff Joe Sedinger said.

According to Sedinger, the sheriff's office suspected the deputy was using drugs while on duty and approached him about it. An investigation into the situation continues.

The former deputy has not been identified and charges have not been filed.
